My name is Sabin Bortan, I’m 40 years old and I practice enduro motorcycling in Sibiu for over 12 years, being one of the pioneers of the enduro sport in Sibiu and even in Romania. In 1996 I start to drive with a motorbike in the mountains, with my first enduro bike, a Honda 350 xlr ,which was the second enduro bike in Sibiu. As a passionate hiker and a well-trained in mountain routes I have started riding the mountains with a friend of mine who was the first owner of an enduro bike in Sibiu.
Together we have established the basis of the enduro activity in Sibiu area and now Sibiu have become a referrence point of enduro in Romania, with one of the bigest enduro clubs of the country. It is also the host of the RedbullRomaniacs Rally and the host of the hillclimb race, whcih is unique in Romania and has a beautifull motocross track.In 1997 I started being a tour guide and from 1999 I started helping the organizers of the enduro competitions as a Track Manager. Being a Track Manager for “Enduromania Competition “ in 1999, “Redbull Romaniacs Rally” in 2004 and 2005 ,“Romanian Enduro Championship” 2005, Sibiu edition, and as a tour guide for organizations like ''Enduroexperts'',''Tcpxpower'' and ''Ktm adventure tours'' I can say that I have gathered enough experience to become a professional Tour guide and be able to make a living out of this hobby. In 2005 I made together with my wife, Carmen, our company ''Transilvania Enduro Tours srl'' and in 2007 we have opened our pension,Pension Carmen, specially designed for the enduro activity(parking place for cars and bikes,service place, washing place,grill place,gear room,living room with bar,jacuzzi,tenis court) which located 5 minutes away from the motocross track of the city.After these years, we have reached the number of 250 enduro riders who come every year to discover our '' enduroparadise'' through our organization, which make us probably the bigest '' enduro tours operator'' in the east of Europe.The diversity of the terrain ,with beautifull mountains, hills and forests, which fills all the demands and levels, together with our hospitality, is making our clients so satisfied that they come back every year with the same pleasure.
